Description
La Chasse de Compiegne is a reproduction of a mural of the same name first published by Jacquemart in Paris in 1812 and designed by Carle Vernet. The scene opens with a deer hunting party leaving the Chateau a Compiegne, once a royal residence of Louis XV, accompanied by a carriage allegedly carrying the Queen of Naples and follows the hunt in the countryside ending with a post-hunting picnic among the ruins .
