Description
L'Eden is a reproduction of a mural of the same name published by Desfosse in Paris in 1861 and designed by Joseph Fuchs. It had probably been shown at the London International Exhibition in 1862. The mural depicts virgin rainforest in vivid detail. This is attributed to the fact that Fuchs painstakingly painted a full cartoon of the design rather than a miniature version which would have resulted in a loss of detail.
